Do you love the convenience of brownies from a box? ME TOO! I was all set to make the husband some brownies one afternoon, and I discovered we were out of the boxed mix. Oh, the horror. There was nothing to be done, except make my own.
Do you know how EASY it is to make brownies? And how much easier it is to just double and triple the dry ingredients and put them baggies, ready for the next time brownies are “needed”?

Yes! If you must. If you bake them in a traditional pan lined with parchment, wrap them very well in more parchment, and then plastic wrap then put into a freezer bag. They will stay good for about 3 months.
To eat, just remove from the freezer and slice. Allow to thaw after that!

Easy Homemade Brownies
Ingredients
Dry Ingredients
- 1 cup granulated white sugar
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
Wet Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Directions
Make the Mix
- Mix all these ingredients together with a whisk and dump them into a zipper bag.
- On the bag, add the following instructions: Add 2 eggs, 1/2 cup vegetable oil and 1 tsp vanilla. Bake @ 350 for 20-25 minutes.
Baking Day
- Preheat oven to 350F
- Add dry ingredients, plus the eggs, oil and vanilla to a bowl and mix thoroughly.
- Pour into a greased 8×8 pan.
- Bake 20-25 minutes.

This is a solid brownie. I loved that it wasn’t overly sweet. I used my Pampered Chef brownie pan, similar to the image provided and was only able to get 8 brownies. Delicious!

That is very clever of you to make your own brownie mix. I’ve stayed away from box mixes for a while — have you looked at the ingredients? You have to be a Chem major to figure them out. Although I do admit to the convenience of having a mix on hand. That’s why your post is so great. Make up your own mix and your ready all the time. I’m certainly saving this for future use.
