- Raspberries. Buy raspberries on sale, and freeze them! Then you can have this drink year round. Fresh or frozen raspberries work perfectly here.
- Limes. Kind of important to use fresh ones here. You’ll need about 4 limes to get the amount of juice we need. If you like lime like I do, use a little lime zest as well.
- Sugar. Plain granulated white sugar.
- Water. We use still water to make the syrup, and then more water to mix together the drink. You can choose sparkling water or still water for that. part.

Make the syrup
In a small pot, simmer ½ cup water, sugar, and raspberries over medium heat until the sugar is dissolved. Use a wooden spoon to gently muddle the raspberries in the pot.
Strain the mixture through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl. Use the back of a spoon to press on the raspberries to extract all the juice. We want to keep the color and raspberry flavor, but ditch the pulp and raspberry seeds.
Juice the limes and combine the lime juice into the raspberry simple syrup. It will make about 1 ⅓ cups of syrup.
Divide the raspberry syrup between 4 ice-filled glasses and top with sparkling water (for sparkling raspberry limeade) or cold water.
Mix together, add some lime slices or lime wedges and raspberries as a garnish, and enjoy.
